Twists of Life is a nod to the many twists and turns we face on the journey of life. As many of you can probably relate, after spending 15 years in corporate life, I lost the love for what I was doing. I really believe that work should be more than just a paycheck. I was fortunate enough to be in a position to take some time off and focus on my family and myself for a while.

Not going to lie… The first few months were tough! I went from being a busy bee to suddenly not knowing what to do with myself. I had come to ‘a fork in the road’ and had to do a lot of soul searching. I needed to find my true self again, be happy with what I had achieved so far in life, stop chasing the ever-moving career goalposts, and instead, enjoy the present!

Learning pottery and painting were on my bucket list, and that’s how it all began! With these art forms, I quickly found a new love and passion for creating. I learnt to be more patient; to let go; to go with the flow and most importantly, to slow down and appreciate the moment. My perspective on life transformed and I now view the world through a new lens.

Life works in mysterious ways. What started as hobbies in 2017, have now become a full-fledged passion for producing one-of-a-kind artworks. Being a relatively new artist, I love experimenting with different styles and techniques. While I generally have a concept or vision in mind before starting a piece, like in life, plans evolve and transform while I'm working - and that’s okay! Ceramics and painting have taught me to embrace change and be more of a free spirit.

Changes that are significant in life can be scary but they’ve also given me the opportunity to reset and choose my path ahead. I can only hope that my story will inspire others to celebrate what life throws at them. There is more than one road to happiness.
